Liminality: a state of transition between one stage and the next; a threshold between two states.

Liminality explores how the mediums of graphic design can be used out of context as abstract forms in a public environment. It explores the blur between the digital space and physical space, creating a hyper-digital installation of abstract forms, bold colour and light. The installation takes graphic design mediums and languages that would normally be used in a public shopfront environment and strips away the branding and advertising context through abstraction. This abstraction allows the design mediums and languages to exist on their own. The installation strips back graphic design into three main elements: colour, pattern and space. It explores how these three elements can create new forms when used abstractly.
